A label doesn't prove itself
Starting August 2, 2026, anyone using AI to generate image, audio, or video content must disclose deepfakes in a form people can see or hear (Art. 50(4) AI Act). A visible label meets that obligation. It can still be removed, overwritten, or cropped out. The label only holds up as evidence when it lives inside the asset.
Authenticity is no longer visible
