A label doesn't prove itself
Anyone generating AI images, audio, or video must disclose deepfakes in a way people can perceive under the AI Act, mandatory since August 2, 2026. A visible label meets that obligation. A visible label can still be removed or overwritten. The label only holds up as evidence when it lives inside the asset.
